Sunday Worship & Musings (late)

It's only mercy, but believe me, it's enough.

I am so thankful for girlfriends who love Jesus enough to push me to walk more closely with the Saviour.
3+ very happy hours were spent walking in the glorious sunshine Saturday, and talking of many subjects. N.dV & CJM and myself roamed around Greenwood, to old haunts and new places - sunny skies above and wind pushing at us, tangling hair and burnishing skin unused to the brightness.
As iron sharpens iron, so a man sharpens the countenance of his friend. - Proverbs 27:17 NKJV

"Kildee House" (review)

I first read this from the library years ago. It's a lovely nature story. A painfully shy man named Jerome Kildee retires onto a California mountain. The 4th wall of his tiny cabin is a redwood trunk.

Even though Mr. Kildee doesn't like talking with or seeing people, he soon becomes entangled with feuding young neighbors, raccoons, spotted skunks, and variously assorted wildlife. The story shows you what happens and how Jerome rediscovers (really just discovers) himself in a wildlife setting.

A childhood treasure I'm glad to have for my own now. :D

Irishness *100th Post!*

Well, this is a VERY video heavy post, but these are a few songs from some of my favorite Celtic groups.

Passing

I can't believe how time flies.

Six long years since my maternal grandfather went to heaven.

Nineteen since my littlest brother went to heaven,

Same day, thirteen years apart.

Poppa finally got to meet his youngest grandson.

Harmonica playing reminds me of Poppa every time I hear someone using that instrument.

Heaven is for real, and I wish I could hug you both. But I know you are around the throne of God rejoicing.

David J. G. 1995
Poppa Johnson 1922-2008

You will always be loved.

Sunday Worship

To come into the presence of the living God is to be changed, you cannot come into His high and holy place and stay the same
So change us Lord, remake us Lord, conform us to the image of Your Son
So change us Lord, remake us Lord, 'til Father, Spirit, Jesus we are one
- Song we sing at church (don't know the name)

Fun-Day Off

Ahhhhh, I sure had fun today! I wanted to use our bread maker to make some dinner roll dough, then ended up making a whole bunch more food.
I love cooking, so it was fun for me to make a thorough going mess in the kitchen. Since I was a first grader, I've enjoyed cooking new things
. Lately though, I've not been able to help my mom as much as I would like to - work.

Mom helped me make banana pudding with Nilla wafers, stuffed eggs for Dad, and a ham steak for supper. (Along with washing a whole bunch of dishes! thank you Mom!)
Coleslaw 2 ways - pan-fried with bacon drippings and cold with a creamy dill dressing (no bacon involved in thst one). Then while the bread maker was out, we tossed up another loaf of bread.

Best part? Getting to listen to an old audiobook favorite or 2. When the book gets aplayin', I love it.
