Musings on 2 Timothy 2

When I went to open my Bible this morning, my notebook was tucked into the page with 2 Timothy 2:22 next to it.

"Flee also youthful lusts; but pursue righteousness, faith, love, peace with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart."

Reading the verses before and after that one, for better context; you see how important it is to walk closely by Jesus's side.
Do you want to be a 'vessel of honor'? Look at verse 22. Verse 24 - a servant of the Lord must be gentle to all, able to teach, patient. 25, in humility correcting those in opposition.

In verse 22, the reference takes one to
           1 Timothy 6:11.
"But you, O man of God, flee these things and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, gentleness."
Verse 12 to 14 then tells us to,
"Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you were also called and have confessed the good confession in the presence of many witnesses. I urge you in the sight of God who gives life to all things, and before Christ Jesus who witnessed the good confession before Pontius Pilate, 14 that you keep this commandment without spot, blameless until our Lord Jesus Christ’s appearing."

*Highlighted words - emphasis mine.

May you walk closer to Christ in the coming days.
